Now

Lately, as of July 2026:

  • I’m giving myself permission to not try to be the greatest jazz pianist, but focusing instead on piano tuning work and on software development of a system to help piano technicians manage their businesses. (www.PianoDoc.pro)
  • Why:

  • I was practicing too many things and not in enough depth, and consequently not seeing progress. Still practicing, but in smaller chunks.
  • The music I admire and aspire to isn’t from the greats that everyone worships. And not usually American.
  • For some reason, I’ve always loved coding. So creative!

Also:

  • Trying to keep to trail running every other day, more or less. Plus the gym, twice a week.
  • Reading: philosophy (John Vervaeke lecture videos, Essentia Foundation on YouTube), spirituality (a variety).
  • Using ChatGPT extensively to write code. Indispensable. Everyone else is using Claude Code, but a year ago I chose ChatGPT because I want to understand the code, not just give over all responsibility to AI. What’s the fun in that? But I may reconsider for future projects.
